3 Bedroom House in Oman, Qurayyat
Fins Beach house enjoys a position on the edge of the fishing village of Fins in the interior of Oman. The house is a 5 minute walk to the nearest sandy beach and has beach mats, chairs and choice of 3 kayaks and life jackets. The property boasts a large 10m long Majlis (sitting room) with floor cushions, also a 6 seater table and chairs and a private toilet. Outside is a 12m veranda for you to enjoy watching the sunset over the 2,000m mountains behind the house.
The house has 3 bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. One single bedroom, One Master bedroom with King sized bed plus a daybed and infant's sleeping. The third bedroom has three large single beds. Each bedroom has a satellite TV.
The fully equipped kitchen is 8m long with dining for 6 persons. There is a microwave, 6 hob cooker with oven, large fridge freezer with one spare fridge freezer in the store. All work surfaces are of stainless steel.
There is a large barbecue in the garden for your use and you will find some charcoal in the kitchen for your use. There is also wood under the barbecue and a small barbecue for you to take to the beach if you wish.
There are guide books to exploring Oman and books of the animals and insects you might expect to find during your stay. Fins is still quite a remote area and sighting of gazelle, camels, Arabian foxes and donkeys is relatively common from just outside of the village. Vultures and eagles may be sighted from the house.
The house is near some of the most amazing scenery in Oman. From the beautiful beaches and stunning mountain ranges there is also the Bammah sinkhole to explore, wadis (dry river valleys, except that there is year round fresh water flowing in wadi Shab!) Shab and Tiwi and further trips to the Dhow town of Sur are recommended. You can cross the wadi Shab by boat for a very small fee and then walk up the wadi until you can swim into the cave at around 40 minutes walk. You would swim for about 15 minutes to get to the cave entrance in lovely fresh water.
All restaurants are ok to eat in and the coffee shop in Fins will sell you a mean curry at an incredible low price. For fish, go to Sur where there are fish restaurants. If you want to cook your own fish, ask the gardener to recommend when you should go to the seafront in Fins village to ask the fishermen.
Access: Car is fine, but if you want to head up the mountains or into the desert we recommend a 4 x 4 wheel drive. This is also a good option of you wish to make use of the Kayaks at the house.
